I felt really good
going into the assignment because I was very confident with the advertisement I
chose and felt very comfortable with how I could redesign it, I had a few
different ideas but I really liked how I had the option to choose an option and
one wasn’t chosen for me.
I decided on the advertisement that I did because I could
easily appeal to it how it was in the first place and I had a good idea in my
head about who I could make it appeal to once I redesigned it. As soon as I saw
the ad I knew that I was going to do that one just because I personally enjoy
the product and would love if it was bought for me so that made the redesign
easier too because I tried to make it so a man would buy the jewelry for the
women or daughter or any significant lady in their life.
I pictured in all in my head so all I had to do was say
it and write it down before the idea went away or was changed a little bit.
Since I had it pictured in my mind it was pretty simple after that all I had to
do was make sure it appealed to ethos, pathos, and logos, and had enough detail
in it for the person reading it to get a good picture.
I didn’t face many challenges in the beginning of the
essay but it was a little challenging explaining every detail and making sure I
had every detail so that it was an easy picture in everyone else’s mind that
didn’t see the advertisement. I overcame that challenge by reading over what I wrote a few times and add little
details to make sure everything was explained correctly and everything was seen.
What I really liked about this assignment was that we
could find our own advertisement and could do whatever we wanted to with it
unless it wasn’t approved but mine was. I like having the freedom of being able
to do different things with the ad and it be my own ad that I redesigned and
made. I used the likes to my advantage by making my redesign ad the exact way I
wanted to and making it my own.
I walked away with more knowledge about ethos, pathos,
and logos and a lot more understanding of them which helped out a lot in the
paper considering we had to make sure they were all in the ad. Also writing
more detail in a paper when you’re describing something to someone who has
never seen the ad before. I have a greater understanding of both of those aspects
now that I have written this paper. Without having an understanding of them
this paper would have been very hard.
I wouldn’t do anything differently if I had a chance to
rewrite this paper. The things I wanted to do with the essay were approved and
I didn’t change a thing of it, I had to add little details but nothing drastic
that would have changed how the ad appealed to an audience. I enjoyed what I
did with the paper and I believe it was a successful paper.
