My Timeline

st grade- Learned how to read. I wanted to read all the time, and was always the first one in line for the book fairs. I bought books all the time from garage sales or the school. I’d also donate a lot of books when I was done reading them; I wanted other kids like me to enjoy them
nd grade- I got into the Junie B. Jones books and read those for quite some time, I loved them and had every single one of them. Read them constantly and read them all more than once.
rd grade- writing was a huge struggle because we were required to write in cursive, reading was more important to me then, I’d fall asleep with a book on my face almost every night.
th grade- I really got into “older girl” magazines that my mom would let me get, I read those over and over again until I got a new one.
th grade- always got the same book from the library to read because I loved it so much.
th grade- I was in a reading class because I struggled with reading even though I loved it, I wasn’t at the pace that I should have been with the other kids. I was very embarrassed and that affected my love for reading, I thought I wasn’t good enough to read.
th grade- found out I didn’t have to read as much unless it was my textbook, stopped reading as much
th- Read only the child called it and a few other books by the same author. Also read a lot of poems and began to write them and songs.
th grade- didn’t read unless it was required for class, got too busy.
th grade- barely read the books that were required because they were boring and I was told to read them, I wasn’t given the option and since it was boring I didn’t want to.
th grade- read the required books and liked some of them but looked forward to watching the movies when we were done reading the novel.
th grade- read the book 1984 for class, it was an awesome book, and I loved it. It made me want to read more stories just like it.
Summer- I’ve wanted to begin reading different series of books because of the movies; I’ve heard the books are way better and I wanted to be the judge of that since the movies were so good. Never came around to it because of work but I will eventually.
Freshman year in college- Reading required books, trying to find some time to read novels between school, homework, and work. When I’m at work I read all the books to all the children and watch their reactions, hoping their reactions stay that way and they keep asking people to teach them and read to them until they learn how to read. I hope their love for reading stays like it is forever and not let technology take over their life in the future.
